Transportation with Fee
REQUIREMENTS FOR FREE TRANSPORTATION

  • GRADES K –12: Pursuant to School Committee Policy 3601, for students enrolled in their neighborhood school, free transportation will be provided as per the following distances:
Grades K –2   more than 1 mile
Grades 3 – 5  more than 1.5 miles
Grade 6         more than 2 miles
Grades 7 - 12   All riders pay a fee for transportation

  • No student eligible for free or reduced lunch, under the federal school lunch program, shall be required to pay the transportation fee.
  • No mileage restriction or fee shall apply to the transportation of a student whose individualized education program (IEP) or Section 504 plan includes entitlement to school transportation.

PAID TRANSPORTATION

  • Any student who resides less than one-half (0.5) miles from the school she or he is entitled to attend is not entitled to Transportation except as required by Massachusetts law.
  • For all other students, transportation may be provided as per the following fee schedule on a first come, first served basis. We will fill only the seats available. We will run no additional buses to accommodate applications. The fee schedule for transportation is:
$250 per rider with a maximum of $400 per family.
$150 per rider for one way transportation.

  • Payments may be made in two parts:
  • $100.00 deposit by June 30th when reserving transportation,
  • Final payment by August 6th.
Payment accepted in office or through mail by check or money order. Cash will not be accepted.

A $20.00 late fee will be charged for payments after August 6, 2010 or for any returned checks.
